Two Wells Primary Newsletter, Term 2, week 7 2025
A message from our Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Term 2 is well and truly underway at Two Wells Primary School; it is wonderful to see our students engaging in their learning and sharing their academic growth. Our Governing Council met earlier this term and set the 2025 dates for student free and school closures; this information has been sent out on our communication platforms and is included in this newsletter. Our closure day is for the Royal Adelaide Show and our pupil free days will enable our staff to invest in their own learning opportunities as we begin to fully implement our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program.
Reception Transition Visits
We are delighted to announce that our Reception Transition Visits have been taking place this term. These visits are crucial for our young learners as they help ease the transition into school life. During these sessions, children will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the school environment, meet their teachers, and make new friends. We believe these visits lay a strong foundation for a positive start to their educational journey. A special thank you to our reception teachers and students who have welcomed the mid-year cohort into their learning spaces.
Enrolments Open for 2026
Families that have children eligible to start school in 2026, please contact the front office on 8520 2277 to organise a registration of interest. Completing this document as soon as possible enables us to include them in our student numbers as we begin planning for next year.
Young Aboriginal STEM Thinkers of South Australia YASTSA Camp 2025
This week, our First Nation's students will be attending a STEM congress camp this camp is designed to inspire Australian Indigenous students to explore the exciting worlds of Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, Information Technology, Design, and Planning. We are proud to support this initiative and look forward to hearing about their experiences.
Semester One Reports
As we approach the end of the semester, please be informed that Semester One reports will be sent home in Week 10. These reports will be provided in hard copy and will offer valuable insights into your child's progress and achievements. We encourage you to review these reports and discuss them with your child to celebrate their successes and identify areas for improvement.
Wet Weather Preparedness
With the arrival of winter, we anticipate wetter weather conditions. We kindly ask parents to pack an extra set of clothes for their children, as they may get muddy during outdoor play. This will ensure that students remain comfortable and dry throughout the school day.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation, this is our final newsletter for term 2, we wish all our families a safe and happy mid-year break.
Kind regards,
Kirsty Brumby

Reconciliation Week
Reconciliation Week at Two Wells Primary
During Week 5, our school proudly celebrated Reconciliation Week—a time for all Australians to reflect on our shared history and work towards a more inclusive and respectful future.
Students across all year levels participated in meaningful classroom learning; focused on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and perspectives. Each class contributed to a whole-school display in the gym, which became a powerful showcase of student learning. The displays featured everything from Dreaming stories to detailed information about sacred sites, and classes were invited to visit and learn from one another’s work.
A highlight of the week was hearing from our YASTSA students, who demonstrated their leadership and public speaking skills by explaining the significance of Reconciliation Week and why it’s important to our community. Their thoughtful presentations helped spark important conversations among their peers.
To finish the week, students were invited to try kangaroo meat—an experience that many were excited to take part in, adding a cultural and culinary element to the celebrations.
Thank you to all staff and students for your enthusiastic participation and for helping to make Reconciliation Week a meaningful event in our school calendar.

National Simultaneous Storytime
On the 21st of May, week 4 all students participated in the National Simultaneous Storytime reading of The Truck Cat written by Deborah Frenkel and Danny Snell.
There were 2,204,658 participants throughout Australia and New Zealand and Two Wells Primary was one of 16,632 locations that participated!
Thank you to all families that sent through your beloved cat photos for our library display. All students loved looking at all of the photos and were surprised if one of their furry friends were displayed!
This display can now be seen from the outside of the library, on the big window facing the nature playground. So please feel free to stop and have a look the next time you're walking past!
Thank you all again for your support,
Tegan Penhall

Lucky Little Paws Donations
Dear Two Wells Primary Community,
We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request. The Lucky Little paws rescue and adoption is in need of donations to continue providing shelter, food, and medical care to our furry friends. Every contribution, big or small, makes a significant difference in the lives of these cats.
We will have a drop off box in the front office for any supplies you would like to donate by the 23rd of June. If you have any items that are close to use by date or over, they would still be welcomed donations.
Thank you for your kindness and support. Together, we can make a difference!

AV Con
Now in its 23rd year, AVCon continues to grow thanks to the incredible support of local fans and the broader community. Our Festival celebrates creativity and technology and uses both to stimulate and enhance the experiences of children and families.
This year’s Festival, running 5 and 6 July - the first weekend of the school holidays, will feature:
- Locally developed South Australian video games (meet and learn from the developers)
- Local and interstate artists
- Live musical performances
- Panels on a variety of subjects -from TV shows made in SA to how to interview musical idols to how to solve a Rubix Cube!
- Art, crafts and other creative workshops
- Tabletop games like board games, card games and pen and paper role playing games
- A dedicated kids’ activity area with LEGO, cardboard crafting, clay modelling, free face painting and story time readings with West Torrens Library
Children under 12 attend for free with a paying adult, making it an accessible and exciting way to kick off the holidays! Allowing kids to enjoy current technologies and trends while also learning all about them. An excellent way for parents and children to bond over technology and media!
We’d love your support in spreading the word by sharing AVCon with your school community - perhaps through your school newsletter or parent communications. With your help, we can continue offering a fun, inclusive, and enriching experience for kids and families during the school holidays.
